 "Zizhi Tongjian" inscription version
Compiled by Sima Guang of the Northern Song Dynasty, a total of 294 volumes, more than three million words. This is a chronicle of the general history of the world, covering the history of the 16th Dynasty from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to the Five Dynasties of the Later Zhou Dynasty in 1362. The purpose is to "give in view of the past, have the resources to govern", that is, to summarize the lessons of governing the country in history, and inspire and warn future generations. The book "Han Ji 18" proposed that "if officials are not honest and fair, they will rule the way and decline", that is, if officials cannot be honest and fair, then the national order will definitely be chaotic.
